An oversized basket of twenty sky-blue and ivory hydrangea stems. It arrives already arranged in water, which is the whole point for a household with a newborn — nobody has to find a vase, cut stems or clear a surface. Blue hydrangea is the most requested flower we have for a new baby, and the basket travels better than a wrapped bouquet.

Who this one suits

For a birthday it reads as celebratory rather than romantic, which makes it safe for a friend, a parent or a colleague as much as a partner.

For a new baby the soft tones work in a nursery, and a delivery to the home a few days after the birth usually lands better than one to the ward.

It arrives as a basket arrangement — the flowers are already set in water inside, so there is nothing to unwrap, cut or find a vase for at the other end. That is why we send baskets to hospital rooms, offices and homes with a newborn, where nobody has time to deal with a wrapped bouquet.

Caring for hydrangeas

Hydrangeas drink through their petals as well as their stems, so a light mist of water on the heads keeps them firm. If a head wilts, submerge the whole flower in cool water for twenty minutes and it usually comes back. Re-cut the thick stems at a steep angle so they can take up water. Five to seven days indoors.

Every order includes a handwritten card in a sealed envelope, and we photograph the finished bouquet and send you the picture before the courier leaves. Built by hand at our Studio City studio on the day it is delivered.
